Samsung Galaxy Note 6 To Feature 6GB RAM And 5.8 Inch Display

Just 6 days away from the official unveiling of Samsung’s upcoming smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge at the MWC 2016. And while there are months for the Galaxy Note 6 launch, fresh details about the phablet have been leaked on China’s social network Weibo. The smartphone could likely feature a 5.8-inch Slim RGB AMOLED QHD display running at 2560x1440pixels, as opposed to the current PenTile diamond pixel matrix one.

The leaked screenshot also sheds light on other specifications of the smartphone. While the current Galaxy Note 5 phablet sports 4GB of RAM, the Note 6 could get bumped to massive 6GB. With 64GB and 128GB storage options, there is no word whether it is expandable or not. In the photography department, a 12-megapixel camera with Super OIS Plus is also likely to be in tow.

In comparison, last year’s Galaxy Note 5 flaunts a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display running at a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels with pixel density of 518ppi. The screen covered by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection to keep scratches at bay. Under the hood is Samsung’s homebrew Exynos 7420 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM.

On the camera front, it sports a 16-megapixel rear snapper of aperture f/1.9 with optical image stabilization that can record 4K videos at 30fps and 1080p videos at 60fps. A front-facing 5-megapixel selfie camera is also present. With 3,000mAh battery and wireless fast charging support, connectivity options such as 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and USB 2.0 are present. It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, wrapped under a refreshed TouchWiz UI. It is also due to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in the coming months.
