Samsung Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge Specification, Features And Price In Nigeria

We are just hours away from Samsung’s Unpacked event at MWC, where it is set to unveil the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge smartphones. Ahead of the event at 11:30PM IST tonight, an alleged retail box of the Galaxy S7 Edge has leaked online, along with a hands-on video.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge retail box looks very different from the one we saw with the Galaxy S6. Besides the different design, the back of the box also shows few of the important specifications and features of the upcoming smartphone.

As per the retail box, the Galaxy S7 Edge will feature a 5.5-inch while Galaxy S7 is 5.1 inch QHD Super AMOLED display, and will be powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. This is likely to be the variant powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 8890 chipset.

Furthermore, they also feature a 32GB internal memory, a 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel selfie camera, a battery with wireless charging capabilities, and IP68 certification that makes it resistant to water and dust. Most of these specifications and features are in line with the leaks we have come across before.

On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android Marshmallow out of the box, wrapped under Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. A couple of hands-on videos have surfaced online giving a glimpse at the Galaxy S7 Edge’s UI, as well as confirming the presence of Moto X-like Active Display.

Difference Between Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

there are some crucial differences between the S7 and the Edge. Curiously, the Edge is a physically bigger device; it has a 5.5-inch curved Super AMOLED display, as compared with the normal, flat 5.1-inch panel on the S7. Both, by the way, have always-on modes so you can check the time and notification without firing the phones up for the umpteenth time. It's a strange move at first blush, but it's actually pretty savvy -- the only thing the S6 Edge had over the S6 was its curved display, making it an obvious choice for people tired of traditional smartphones. By giving the S7 Edge a bigger screen, Samsung's trying to set the Edge apart with more than just aesthetics and carve out a more specific niche for the regular S7. That bigger body also means the S7 Edge has a bigger battery, though both have gotten hefty upgrades: There's a 3600mAh battery in the Edge, while the S7 was boosted to 3,000mAh.
